Solving UK skills shortages

As talent experts in the manufacturing field for over 15 years, Workforce People Solution’s mission has been to combat skills-shortages in the UK by supporting our clients to recruit, relocate and retain talent.

Workforce are proud to have placed over 14,000 candidates within the Furniture & Textiles sector across roles including Upholstery, Frame Assembly, Mattress Making and Sewing Machining.

Partnering with leading manufacturers and household brands including DFS, GPlan, Buoyant Upholstery, Hypnos and Westbridge Furniture Designs, Workforce have also helped to support an additional 200 specialist UK manufacturers in their talent acquisition strategies.
In January 2021, the door closed on the free movement of Europe’s top manufacturing talent, of which British Manufacturing has become reliant on to meet the growing demand for quality, UK made products.

Alongside our continued commitment to securing experienced talent, Workforce feel compelled to support the British Manufacturing Industry to develop the next generation of craftspeople and with this in mind, we are launching the “Manufacture Your Future” campaign.

It is our vision to implement a long-term strategy to solve the chronic skills shortages currently facing the UK manufacturing industry. Through this campaign, we wish to proudly highlight Britain’s rich manufacturing heritage and build strategic partnerships with clients to improve their candidate reach.

Alongside our partnered clients it’s our intention to:

• Raise awareness of different roles to inform and educate the talent pool
• Utilise real-life, industry insights to shine a spotlight on the potential of a career in manufacturing
• Improve talent attraction by engaging with job seekers and those looking for a change in career to introduce them to the wide range of career paths on offer in skilled manufacturing
• Reignite the nations’ interest in traditional skills

For us here at Workforce, there’s nothing more critical than seeing “Made In Britain” flourish and people are always at the heart of any success.  Over the course of the next few months, we’ll be launching a series of targeted campaigns, content and educational material to the talent pool to raise awareness and interest in the career opportunities on offer.
